How does live-in care work?

All care arrangements are unique to each individual, so we start with you. We always start with an introductory assessment so we can find out how you would best be supported by a live-in carer in your home.

We can then match you with a carer who will be best placed to meet your needs. They will occupy a spare room in your home so they can provide care according to your schedule. They do not provide 24/7 care, but they can be available in an emergency.

This type of home care arrangement is ideal for those dealing with a reduction in their mobility, degenerative disease, end of life care, or for those recovering from surgery.

Meeting your needs

What can live-in carers help with?

Our live-in carers in Knightsbridge can provide the same level of care offered by a residential care facility. The only difference is that it will be completely bespoke to your needs and delivered on your schedule. This could include help with personal care, day-to-day home maintenance, or assistance with taking medication.

Your live-in carer could help you to get out of bed in the morning and get ready for the day. You might need a little extra support with washing, dressing and grooming. They might also help by preparing healthy and nutritious meals that you love. They could also help with light housework, such as doing the dishes or keeping on top of the laundry.

You might also want support with monitoring health conditions, taking medication, or making sure you are able to attend GP and hospital appointments. With a live-in carer by your side, you’ll have the reassurance of knowing that all of this is covered, which can also be a great source of relief for family members.

Live-in care FAQs

We believe that remaining in your own home will lead to improved health outcomes, as you will be in familiar surroundings and won’t have the stress of upheaval. For this reason, we recommend live-in care over residential care.

Yes, your carer can take care of the housework, such as doing the dishes, or washing and ironing clothes. If a large percentage of their time is occupied by housework, we might recommend a cleaning service as this will allow your carer to focus on personal care.

The first step is to get in touch with our team so we can arrange an initial consultation. This will allow you to determine if this is the right type of care for your needs.
